Ethiopian Airlines has announced that on 10 of its A350 aircraft, it has launched WIFI Internet connectivity services. Passengers can buy cash, credit card, ShebaMiles or EMDS for WIFI connectivity.
An Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMDS) which is an electronic non-flight document that may be issued and used for the collection and settlement of optional services offered by an airline will be issued by Ethiopia Airlines at the Airport, Global call centre and Ticket offices and once vetted by the onboard crew can then be put to use.
Payments can be made in two categories: On-board connectivity sales (OCS) and ShebaMiles (OCM) on-board sales. On-board connection transactions may have several forms of payment, such as cash, credit card or debit card, while ShebaMiles onboard sales are charged by deduction from Sheba Miles Passenger Account.
As we live in a fast-paced world, with the need for reliable technology and wireless connectivity, we decided to introduce this service to make our passengers trips more enjoyable by surfing the net before reaching their desired destination, “says Abel Alemu, Southern African Regional Manager of Ethiopian Airlines.
