Bunq Unveils Its Green Wallet To Aid Reforestation

Bunq has introduced a metal card called the Green Wallet. While some banks are offering a premium card cashback scheme, It offers a special type of’ cashback.’ The fin-tech start-up is planting a tree per €100 invested. Eden Reforestation plan has been partnered with in internationally funding reforestation.

The Green Card is an exchange-free MasterCard. The company uses the standard exchange rate for Mastercards but does not charge any additional fees.

The Green Card does not work just like a regular credit card, though it is a credit card. Once a month you don’t have a direct debit to cover your credit line on your bank account. You must instead open the Bunq app and update your Bunq account–adding a charge to your Bunq account with an additional card can require more details. The payment will be denied as a debit card if you don’t have enough cash on your account.

The Green Card costs €99 per year. Bunq charges €0.99 per ATM withdrawal but you get 10 free withdrawals with the Green Card.
