Jason Njoku, The 38 year old Tech Billionaire Who Never Gave Up

The story of iROKOTV’s founder is just Like that of Thomas Edison, he failed the first time, but not giving up he got it right at entrepreneurship at the 11th strike.

As the saying goes, necessity is the mother of invention. Thus, his idea came at the right time into the perfect environment where such services is due for.

His name is Jason Njoku, a 38 year old London born Nigerian Entrepreneur, Investor, Film Magnate and African start-up investor. He is the co-founder and CEO of iROKOtv. After schooling abroad and his unsuccessful attempts in business and

entrepreneurship, he co-founded in 2011, iROKOtv a mainstream online movie platform with his best friend Bastian Gotter.

The company has now raised over $22 million from international venture capitals. According to him, the inspiration was predicated on the fact that the West had Netflix and Africa had nothing.

Furthermore, the iROKO brand has other online subsidiaries such as iRokoking (an online music hub), and the YouTube channel Nollywood Love.

Interestingly, he is highly recognised by Forbes and other awarding platforms. July 2012, Forbes Africa recognized him as one of the “Ten Young African Millionaires to Watch”. In 2013, he was dubbed the CNBC All Africa Business Awards Young Leader of the Year.

Also, as an investor, Mr Jason has over the years spread his business presence to different sectors, investing millions of dollars into growing and established businesses.


He is happily married to Jason Njoku married Nollywood film star and producer Mary Remmy Njoku, who has indeed been supportive in his business doings.

In addition, he is indeed a success story. Despite all his failures, he never gave up. He stayed persistent and wanted to achieve greatness and success until he reached his goal. Today he is one of Nigeria’s youngest Billionaires.
