Many are born great while many have greatness bestowed upon them, history has it that greatness which is achieved is much more cherished. The story of Anthony Ifeanyichukwu Ndubuisi Ezenna, who was neither born great nor with a silver spoon.
Ezenna struggled through life and by a dint of hard work, determination, focus, commitment, abiding faith in God and in most places, special favour, he acquired the proverbial silver spoon and achieved greatness on his own. Born on April 21, 1957, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Ezenna, who hails from Akokwa, Ideato North LGA of Imo State, is said to have demonstrated so early in life that he was destined to cut a niche for himself in entrepreneurship and has attained the feat with shrewdness and focus.
He was an obedient student of entrepreneurship and business administration under the able guardian of his father, Mr. Ernest Ezenna Ebilekwe, the proprietor of Eastern Chemists which he later transformed into a multi-billion-naira conglomerate. His efforts paid off and Orange Drugs Group was birthed.
Tony Ezenna, Chairman and CEO of Orange Drugs Group is an unassuming business magnet. He is a rare breed who makes the country proud by contributing to the economic growth of the country.
He garners little publicity for a man of his status, yet possesses larger than life image. He is a firm believer in Nigeria and advocates growing the industrial sector. No nation, he believes, undermines this critical sector and makes headway.
The corporate Czar oversees the multi-billion naira indigenous conglomerate that is into pharmaceutical and household commodities, Orange Drugs. His business philosophy anchors on manufacturing quality products and offering first class services. Even in the face of daunting economic challenges the country has faced over the years he has remained true to his vision.
In 2006, to further drive home his passion for the downtrodden, Ezenna set up the Tony Ezenna Foundation with the sole aim of providing scholarships and financial support to indigent families that cannot afford to send their children to school.
He is also involved in providing financial assistance to small scale businesses. Ezenna has contributed immeasurably to the infrastructural development of his immediate community and other communities.
